Fontaines D.C. have teamed up with English filmmaker Andrea Arnold for a âBugâ music video. The song, taken from their new album, Romance, comes to life in the Arnold-directed clip, which features footage from her upcoming movie Bird, starring Barry Keoghan and the bandâs own Carlos OâConnell, among others. Watch it below.
âAndrea Arnold was kind enough to cut up a sequence to our tune âBugâ featuring Barry Keoghan playing the character Bug in her new movie Bird,â said OâConnell. ââBugâ is a song that happened quickly and convinced everyone quicker. In my eyes, the character Bug, the tattoo âBugâs Life,â Andreaâs essential & romantic worlds, and the line âChanged my name to âPromise you, Yeaââ; when put all together make convincing needless & conviction undeniable. Big thanks to Andrea Arnold for letting us in so close to her visionary universe. Sheâll be remembered how we remember Bacon or Goya.â
Bird is Arnoldâs fifth feature-length movie and follows 2016âs American Honey. It also stars Franz Rogowski and Nykiya Adams, and is slated to come out this Friday, November 8.
Fontaines D.C. are currently on the road in support of Romance. The massive tour brings them across Europe through the end of this year, before they head over to Japan, Australia, South America, and North America in 2025.
